Margie Tsang criticized for old photo with Tony Leung

17 February – Margie Tsang faced harsh criticism from netizens for sharing an old photo of her and her ex-boyfriend Tony Leung Chiu Wai.

On Valentine's Day, the actress posted an old photo of herself with the star of “Where the Wind Blows” on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu and wrote: “Today, on this special day, I will show you my first love.”

“When I see his successes today, I am really happy for him,” she added.

But instead of positive comments from netizens, the actress was criticized for her inappropriate behavior. Many said that Margie has not yet moved on from her past relationship and that it would not be appropriate for Tony to be happily married to Carina Lau.

Margie then defended herself and said that Internet users were thinking too much about such a simple post.

Margie is known to be Tony Leung's first girlfriend, with whom they dated from 1982 to 1988 when they were part of the TVB Training Academy. Tony later married actress Carina Lau.

Margie, on the other hand, married businessman Stephen Lam in London in 1996, but the marriage ended in 2002.
