Michelle Keegan reveals Christmas plans with husband Mark Wright

Michelle Keegan has said she doesn't expect her Christmas with husband Mark Wright to be “really rocking”.

The Brassic actress and the former Only Way Is Essex star, both 33, began dating in 2012, got engaged in 2013 and married in May 2015.

Appearing on the Jonathan Ross Show, Keegan said she wanted to pretend the festivities were going to be exciting, but in reality she was going to get new pajamas.

She spoke about her plans: “At home I like to cook, I enjoy cooking. He's not in the kitchen when I cook. He comes there. He's not that bad yet. But I'm definitely the cook of the household. I enjoy that.”

“I want to say we're doing something really rocking, but that's not true. I'm getting brand new pajamas on Christmas Eve. I wanted to say something cool, but that's not true.”

Keegan left her leading role as army officer Georgie Lane in the BBC One military drama Our Girl earlier this year after appearing in four seasons.

However, she said the door for a return remains open.

She said: “With Our Girl, I will never say never. I absolutely loved the job. It was a fantastic role for me, it was really challenging.”

“Not only was it physically demanding, but I also learned a lot about the military and the medical side of things through this job.

“I really enjoyed it, but I felt it was the right time for me to move on.

“Georgie can come back in the future, they left the door open for Georgie.

“I did it for four seasons and was away from home quite a lot. I was away for four months each time, the year before I was away for eight months.

“I've been so lucky (to travel). It's hard work and long days. Sometimes we work six days a week and it's very challenging.”
