Bachelor SA candidate Gina Myers remembers her best friend Reeva on Valentine's Day

Cape Town – Model Reeva Steenkamp's best friend Gina Myers was named one of the 24 participants at the premiere of the very first Bachelor SA on Thursday.

The first episode aired on Valentine's Day – exactly six years to the day after Reeva was shot by her boyfriend, former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius.

In previous interviews, Gina talked about how Reeva stayed with her family for six months and described that Reeva was like a sister to her.

The celebrity makeup artist wrote a poem on Instagram on the anniversary of her death and wrote: “Flashbacks and memories of every day. I remember your words and they make me reminisce. Every laugh and even the tears I miss. Every surprise and even the arguments we had. I would take the good and the bad.”

“6 years later and I still feel a gap. Just a smile left. A phrase. That I stole. I still want the memories to shine really bright. That I live your love so everyone can feel your light. I will see you in my dreams. I know you are there. That you come and talk nonsense. Just to hear your sound. Your laugh and your voice when it feels so real,” she added.

Gina and Reeva were friends for six years before their lives ended tragically.
