USWNT star Mallory Swanson and her husband, Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson, are one of our favorite sports couples. Dansby recently posted a heartfelt message about the U.S. forward on Instagram.

“Happy birthday my wonderful wife!!! You are one of a kind,” Dansby said in an Instagram message on April 29, 2024. “A beautiful human being. A kind soul. Loving in every way.”

“One hell of an Uno competitor. And someone I thank God for every day. I love you so much ❤️.”

Dansby's sweet message came months after the MLB player shared a post about Mallory on Valentine's Day. The shortstop reflected on their relationship and their shared Christian faith.

“Happy Valentine's Day to the best wife and the best thing that ever happened to me!” Dansby wrote on February 14. “Your constant love and ability to grow in Christ is truly inspiring. I love you ❤️”

The last time the USWNT won gold, Mallory Swanson was 14 and watching from the Buffalo Wild Wings.

She struggled with a torn patellar tendon, underwent three operations and had to miss the World Championships.

Thanks to her goal today, the US team won OLYMPIC GOLD in Paris 🥇🇺🇸

Mallory Swanson and husband Dansby married on December 10, 2022 in Georgia

Mallory has also spoken publicly about her favorite Cubs player. The football star has been at Dansby's side since the beginning of his career with the Atlanta Braves before signing with the Cubs in 2022.

The couple married on December 10, 2022, at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.

“Our first year of marriage. Looking back, God wrote this first year perfectly,” Mallory said in an Instagram post on December 10, 2023. “Filled with many challenges and His goodness at the same time, He called us to lean on Him and each other more than ever. Happy anniversary! I love you! ♥️ @dansbyswanson.”

Although the couple celebrated in an exquisite venue, Dansby and Mallory still kept it authentic for their friends. Dansby is from Kennesaw, a suburb of Atlanta, and gave guests a sense of home by hosting Waffle House at the reception.

“Getting married in front of our family and friends is very special,” the couple said in an interview with People on December 11, 2022. “It means we can become one and impact God's kingdom together.”

Mallory Swanson on Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson: “If anyone knows him, they know he’s an even better person”

Before joining the Cubs, Dansby was part of the Braves team that won the 2021 World Series. Mallory reflected on how Dansby inspired her on the field and with her faith.

“This man right here. He inspires me every day. Yes, he's a great baseball player, but if anyone knows him, he's an even better person,” Mallory said in the Instagram message on Nov. 4, 2021. “He helps me live out my faith in Jesus. God's plan for him wasn't easy.”

“The game of baseball has driven him crazy at times, but the one thing he always falls back on is our Savior. It's faith and trust in God during trials in a time most people don't see. It's becoming the man God made him to be. And ultimately, it's him giving God all the glory. ♥️”

Mallory's game-winning goal against Brazil ensured that the pair now own a gold medal in addition to the World Series trophy.
