BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE announces 20th anniversary edition of “The Poison”

In October 2005, the British metal greats BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE laid a solid foundation with their epochal debut album, “The Poison”Since then, an unprecedented and sustained career has followed, changing the landscape and giving new impetus to the development of alternative music. In 2005, the Welsh metallers rose from the opening act Funeral of a friend on their UK tour in the summer, only to end the year headlining the same venues just months later. This meteoric rise saw the album reach number 21 in the UK album charts and become a late contender in the year-end polls, peaking at number seven Kerrang!'s Albums of the Year list and has since achieved gold status. An album that still has a lasting impact, Metal hammer listed the album in the top 25 of their recent edition “The Greatest Metal Albums Of The Century”.

“I honestly can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the release of 'The Poison'and what an incredible 20 years it was,” says BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Frontman Matt Tuck. “I'm so proud of what we've accomplished as a band over the last two decades, and it all started with that debut album. 'The Poison' is such an important part of our lives musically and personally, and we know what a huge impact it's had on the metal world on a global level.”

To celebrate the two-decade-old album, “The Poison” has been remastered for vinyl and is set to be released on a range of limited and exclusive products. A bespoke and super-deluxe box set contains the complete collector's edition of the album. In a bespoke box set with a removable lid, four LP vinyl discs contain the original deluxe album track listing, the “Hand of Blood” EP, all bonus material and for the first time on vinyl the band's album from 2006 “Live in Brixton” performance. In addition to the music, the box set includes new artwork, an extensive and high-quality coffee table book, a four-part print set, a fold-out poster, an enamel pin, a bandana and a AAA laminated passport replica. A deluxe double CD also includes the entire expanded music collection and comes with an artwork booklet housed in a high-quality hardback book. The key album tracks are also available on a transparent red LP and a Zoetrope version, which displays the animations of the new album artwork when played on a turntable.
