GINGER EVIL – New single “Dead On Arrival” released

Finnish rock sensation Ginger Evil and her frontwoman have unveiled their new single and lyric video “Dead On Arrival”, released today via Frontiers Music Srl.

The band commented on the new track: “Writing 'Dead On Arrival' was like doing a puzzle; Tomi came up with the verses and bridge, Veli contributed the chorus, Toni his cool drum beats and Ella rounded the song off with catchy melodies. When we recorded the song, we immediately realized that we had a really cool, amazing song that was like old school classic rock with a modern twist. A great, powerful live song. We wanted to make a lyric video to go with it so that people could more easily understand what the song was about.”

Ginger Evil started in 2005 as Moonshine Inc. in a rehearsal room in Helsinki, Finland. After a few years of rehearsing and composing, the songs were put on ice because the search for a singer was unsuccessful.

In the meantime, guitarist Tomi Julkunen and bassist Veli Palevaara continued to play with The Milestones in Finland, including arena shows with Deep Purple and Whitesnake. After the release of their fifth album, the songs of Moonshine Inc. from ten years ago were resurrected and the search for a singer began anew.

Tomi and Veli knew Ella Tepponen's powerful voice from many theater and music projects, and everyone was also familiar with drummer Toni Mustonen. While jamming together, they discovered their shared musical passion and soon a shared creative process developed. Ginger Evil was born.

“From Foo Fighters to Fleetwood Mac” – that's how the band hears their music, with singer Ella giving her rock expression a whole new twist. Everything fit together. Music producer and film director Richard Stanley, known for his work with The Who, heard demos by Ginger Evil and was inspired to write lyrics.

In early 2022, Ginger Evil signed a contract with Deadfall's artist/band management and half a year later with Frontiers Music Srl. (Def Leppard, TOTO, Whitesnake, Journey). For the recording of the debut album “The Way It Burns”, Ella brought in Teemu Aalto (Insomnium) as producer, who also handled the final mixes with final mastering by Grammy-nominated Svante Forsbäck of Chartmakers (Rammstein, Volbeat, Sunrise Avenue, Apocalyptica).
