Central Pennsylvania man arrested and charged with attempted murder after road rage incident in Maryland

A 37-year-old Adams County man was arrested by Maryland State Police on Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and related offenses after he fired at another vehicle during an incident of driving aggression, according to police.

According to a police report, Maryland State Police responded to a DUI incident in the area of ​​U.S. 15 and Tippin Drive in Frederick County around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday in which shots were fired.

When police arrived on the scene, they said they found multiple bullet holes visible in the passenger compartment of the victim's vehicle. Maryland police did not provide information on how many shots were fired during the incident.

The victim told police he was uninjured and investigators were able to find a bullet in the vehicle, the report said.

The victim said the shots came from a maroon Chevrolet SUV with a Pennsylvania license plate. Later that day, police found the vehicle unoccupied at a business in Thurmont, Maryland.

Investigators said the suspect, later identified as Bryant Paradine of Littlestown, was inside the store. Police then executed a search warrant on the vehicle and seized a loaded 9-millimeter handgun and an empty cartridge case of the same caliber.

Paradine was arrested and taken to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barracks for processing, the police report said. He is now awaiting an appearance before a district court commissioner.
