WILMERDING, Pennsylvania (KDKA) – A man was shot and killed in Wilmerding Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews found a man shot to death after being called to a shooting on State Street shortly after 2 p.m.

The body was found in the middle of the road next to a white SUV that had a bullet hole in its windshield. An evidence box was placed on the ground nearby.

A neighbor's Ring doorbell camera captured a volley of gunshots. One neighbor said after hearing gunshots, he went out to help, but there was nothing he could do. Another neighbor said after the shooting, he saw someone running behind his house.

Nolan Maurizi's family owns a store nearby and he said almost everyone from the street comes here.

“Everyone here is family. For me, this is like a nightmare. I can't imagine the people who were closer to the victim,” said Maurizi.

The Allegheny County Homicide Unit did not release any further information on the shooting. There is no information on suspects and the identity of the victim has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
