Two men arrested, missing girl found in stolen van, Nebraska cops say

Arrest by firearms

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – Two men were arrested in western Nebraska this week after they were caught with a missing girl in a stolen vehicle.

On Monday, the Nebraska State Patrol received information about a stolen minivan traveling on Highway 83.

Authorities in the state of Colorado, where the van was stolen, told officers that a missing teenager may have been inside the vehicle.

They thought the teenager, a 13-year-old girl reported missing in South Dakota, might be in danger.

At around 3:10 p.m., a police officer spotted the van and stopped it south of Thedford.

The police officer found the girl inside and arrested the two men: 20-year-old Marquise Spotted Eagle and 23-year-old Davation Taylor, both of South Dakota.

Investigators said they learned the men also stole a vehicle in South Dakota.

According to the patrol, police officers found a rifle on the side of Highway 83 that had been stolen from the vehicle.

The police assume that the men threw it out of the van before the traffic stop.

The two were taken to the Lincoln County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and firearm, solicitation of a minor to commit a crime, aiding and abetting a crime, child endangerment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
