Teenager suspected in hospital garage robbery arrested after police chase

A chase ended in an accident and the arrest of two people, including a teenager who Milwaukee police believe is responsible for a robbery at a hospital parking garage.

Greendale police initially attempted to stop a car early Wednesday morning for not having license plates. A chase ensued, but was ended by Greendale near South 6th Street and West Arthur Avenue due to excessive speed. Greenfield and Milwaukee police later found the car, which had crashed near South 15th Street and Burnham Street.

Milwaukee police say the car involved in the chase was stolen from the garage of Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center on West Dakota Street on Tuesday morning. Milwaukee police believe the 15-year-old arrested after the chase is the same person who attacked a 75-year-old victim and stole his car from the parking garage.

The Dakota Street parking garage is one block from the hospital.

Some employees have reached out to TMJ4 with their concerns, saying they do not feel protected.

TMJ4 contacted Aurora Health Care on Wednesday to address staff concerns but did not receive a response. On Tuesday, Aurora issued a brief statement stressing that safety and security were its top priority and that the incident had been reported to police.

Charges related to the car theft and prosecution will be forwarded to the public prosecutor.
