Two defendants found hiding in portable toilet in Kelso drive-by shooting

PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) — Two people were arrested Tuesday night after they allegedly shot and injured a man in a drive-by shooting in Kelso, Washington, before traveling to Oregon and hiding in a portable toilet.

At 6:50 p.m., Kelso Police reported that officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of ​​West Cowlitz Way and Catlin StreetOfficials said all officers from the Kelso and Longview police departments and the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office responded.

Upon arrival, Kelso Police officers found 31-year-old Cody Tamayo suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a trauma center, but his condition is “undisclosed,” officials said.

“Within an hour of the incident, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office located the suspect's unoccupied vehicle in Rainier, Oregon and began searching for the perpetrators,” Kelso police said in a press release.

At 11:25 p.m., the Columbia County Sheriff's Office “received information that the suspects were hiding in a portable toilet near where the suspect's vehicle was parked.”

In fact, police cordoned off the area and found and arrested two suspects from the portable toilet: 19-year-old Connor Santos Aguayo and 18-year-old Eligha Christian Buckner Lopez. Both face charges of drive-by shooting and first-degree assault.
