The funeral service for the young woman from Limerick who died last Sunday in a car accident at the end of last month is still going on.

Hannah Frawley, of Caherelly, Grange, County Limerick, died on Sunday 11 August after being seriously injured in a car accident on the night of 30 July.

The young woman from Limerick fought bravely for her life for two weeks at Cork University Hospital after the tragic accident.

The popular 25-year-old will be buried this Friday following a funeral mass at St. Michael's Church in Denmark Street.

In the days since Hannah's death, a wave of tributes have poured in from across the country, with many describing her as a “ray of sunshine” and a “beautiful soul” who “always filled every room she walked into with so much positivity and character.”

Hannah attended school at An Modhscoil before going on to Laurel Hill Coláiste in Limerick City. She received her college education at the Limerick School of Art and Design.

In an online post, one of Hannah's colleagues wrote: “Hannah was such a sweet soul and we will miss her.”

Another mourner described the late Hannah as “such a wonderful person who brought so much light and laughter into the lives of everyone she met.”

“I will always cherish the memories I have of her from her time at LSAD and I know her light and spirit will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.”

Gardaí this week again appealed to the public for witnesses to the fatal crash, in which the driver – a man in his twenties – was also seriously injured.

Investigating officers are particularly interested in speaking to “road users with camera footage (including dashcam) travelling on the R503 road near Lisngry in County Limerick between 7.45pm and 8.45pm on Tuesday 30 July 2024”.

Anyone with information about the fatal accident is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Hannah leaves behind her loving parents Ger and Liz and her brother Luke. She will be sadly missed by her grandmother Kathleen, her partner Chase, Luke's fiancée Ellen, her uncles Martin, Mike and Tim, her aunts Mairead, Mary and Judith and a wide network of family and friends.

Her funeral will take place this Thursday (15 August) from 5pm to 6.30pm at Thompson's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Limerick City.

A celebration of Hannah's life will be held at St. Michael's Church, Denmark Street at 12 noon on Friday, followed by burial at Caherelly Cemetery.
