Manitowoc man convicted in OWI case

A Manitowoc man was convicted of drunk driving in 2022.

Joseph Anthony Skidmore, 60, was found guilty of one count of drunken driving after pleading guilty without contest.th He was sentenced to five months' imprisonment under the Huber Act, followed by a suspended sentence of three years, by Judge Mark Rohrer.

Skidmore was arrested in 2022 after an officer noticed him on South 10th Road without headlights on.

He admitted to police that he had been drinking, and an on-site breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.205 per mille, more than two and a half times the legal limit.

As part of his probation, Skidmore was required to remain strictly sober and not operate a motor vehicle, and an ignition interlock device must be installed in his vehicle.
