Driver charged with serious road accident at Grand Prairie road race, released from hospital

The driver responsible for a fiery Grand Prairie road crash that left four family members dead has been released from hospital.

Jaime Mesa is currently in the Dallas County Jail and is charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.

Investigators said Mesa collided with an SUV carrying a family of five while racing another car.

Four members of the Rosales family died when their SUV burst into flames.

Jessie and Lorena Rosales were killed along with their 13-year-old daughter Stephanie and their 6-year-old son Angel.

Her 16-year-old son Anthony was the only survivor. He is still in critical condition and is in hospital.

Police also arrested 22-year-old Anthony Morales. They said he was the one who had confronted Mesa before the accident.

There are similar allegations against Morales.
