Woman arrested after stabbing man at Budget Inn on Hill Street in LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. (WTVM) – A woman is charged with assault and stalking after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in LaGrange.

According to LaGrange police, 42-year-old Tasha Newton attacked 43-year-old Desmond Carter at the Budget Inn at 100 Hill Street in LaGrange.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 3:30 p.m. on August 14 at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. According to officers, the victim, Carter, was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound.

Newton was arrested later that day and is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated stalking.

According to police, it emerged that Newton was under a restraining order to stay away from Carter at the time of the incident.
