Arrest in connection with Matthew Perry's drug overdose death

Police have made at least one arrest in connection with the death of Friends with Matthew Perry as the star.

The arrest was made Thursday (August 15) in Southern California after the actor accidentally died of an overdose, law enforcement sources told NBC News.

On October 28, 2023, rescue workers found 54-year-old Perry unconscious in the hot tub of his Pacific Palisades home. The actor was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

After a coroner ruled his death an accident last year, Perry's death was considered closed.

But almost seven months later, a federal and local investigation was launched to find out who Friends Actor with the ketamine that caused his death.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) are involved in the investigation into how Perry came into possession of such large quantities of ketamine, the LAPD confirmed on Tuesday.
