COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSAZ) – A Greenup teenager was killed in a shooting in Columbus, Ohio on August 13.

According to authorities, 17-year-old Gage Anderson was found unconscious with a gunshot wound in the 3500 block of Clime Road.

According to court documents, Anderson died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Witnesses described seeing a vehicle leaving the scene and officers reported that a police helicopter quickly located the vehicle nearby at the intersection of Lynward Road and Maurine Dive.

The driver, Skyler Burley, 30, was arrested.

According to court records, Burley was charged with murder and is in the Franklin County Jail.

Anderson and Burley did not know each other.

According to officials, the fatal incident was due to road rage.

The Greenup County School District Superintendent confirmed that Anderson will graduate from the school district in May 2024.

“Tonight we are holding a vigil at the high school to give the students, the alumni, the families and the community an opportunity to pray for the family. We believe that here in Greenup, you are always a Musketeer. We know this is hard on the teachers who had him and the students who grew up with him,” said Superintendent Traysea Moresea.
