Peacock releases trailer for exclusive true crime documentary series “Face to Face With Scott Peterson”

On August 15, Peacock unveiled the trailer and key art for “Face to Face with Scott Peterson,” a three-part true-crime docuseries that takes a new look at the infamous case of Scott Peterson. Nearly 20 years ago, he was convicted of the premeditated murder of his wife, Laci Peterson, and unborn son, Conner, in 2002—a case that garnered national attention and emotion.

Peterson gives his first on-camera interview since 2003 in the series, which premieres exclusively on Peacock on August 20. The docuseries will also follow the latest developments after the Los Angeles Innocence Project announced earlier this year that it would take on Scott's case.

Laci was eight months pregnant and disappeared on Christmas Eve 2002. As the investigation progressed, it became clear that her husband Scott was a liar, a fraud, and ultimately a murderer. The world's media followed every moment of the trial and Scott was convicted and sentenced to death. The case was closed. Or was it?

Speaking on camera for the first time since his 2003 arrest, Scott reveals his side of the story in a series of confidential conversations with director and executive producer Shareen Anderson, who has been investigating this case for over a decade. While many still believe the jury got it right, Peterson's family and experts familiar with the case have spent 20 years uncovering inconsistencies in the evidence and finding new information on alternative theories surrounding Laci's murder. And in a surprising twist, the Los Angeles Innocence Project took over the case earlier this year.

The show features an exclusive series of confidential conversations between Anderson (EP on “The Murder of Laci Peterson”) and Peterson, as well as his sister-in-law Janey Peterson, former Modesto Police Department lead investigator Al Brocchini and investigator Jon Buehler, Scott’s former criminal defense attorney Lara Yeretsian and former ABC News producer Mike Gudgell, among others.

The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studios, with executive producers Anderson, Po Kutchins, Liz Yale Marsh and Tim Clancy.
