Shooting leads to arrest for negligent homicide in Daviess County.

DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) – A man is dead after a shooting in Daviess County.

Officials said it happened shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment in the 4300 block of Gateway Drive.

Rescue workers found the victim with a gunshot wound in the living room.

He was taken to hospital but died.

Officials said several weapons were also found in the living room, including a handgun that was reported stolen in Owensboro.

According to officials, 21-year-old Cayden Moorman and 20-year-old Dalton Pollard were present at the time of the shooting and were questioned by detectives.

They said they learned that the victim was friends with Moorman and Pollard and that the three smoked marijuana and played with guns.

Deputies say a shot was then fired from a handgun, hitting the victim in the head.

Both men were taken to prison.

Moorman is accused of negligent homicide.
