A man claiming to be a member of the famous singing group Jackson Five was declared incompetent to stand trial in Baltimore District Court on August 14.

Reginald Benbow, 61, is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of ammunition and discharge of a firearm in Baltimore City for allegedly shooting his friend in the knee on February 16.

“He made some interesting statements,” Judge Gale E. Rasin said, referring to his last appearance in mental health court. Benbow's court appearance was suspended this week because he was deemed a danger to himself and others.

In Benbow's previous hearing, he spoke about his connection to the Jackson Five and his ownership of Capitol Records.

Benbow was represented by Sharon Bogins-Eberhart, who represented Martin Cohen.
