New details emerge in Pitipong Daengbunga murder trial; closing arguments expected today

BILOXI, Mississippi (WLOX) – New details emerged Thursday as Pitipong Daengbunga's murder trial continued in court in 2022.

Daengbunga is on trial for premeditated murder and tampering with evidence.

Just weeks before Jamie Boggs was murdered, a 911 call led Biloxi police to the apartment where she was later killed.

But according to a defense witness, it was Boggs who attacked the man now accused of killing her.

Daengbunga and Boggs were roommates in a Rodenberg Avenue apartment in February 2022 when Boggs was beaten, stabbed and strangled to death.

Daengbunga did not testify Thursday, but his lawyer argued self-defense and called his former neighbor Pam McLemore to support that claim.

McLemore, currently in prison in Texas, testified via Zoom. She described an altercation between Boggs and Daengbunga on the morning of January 11, 2022, three weeks before Boggs' death.

Although McLemore said she saw Boggs hit Daengbunga and throw objects at him, she told the jury she was afraid for both of them that day.

McLemore also testified that Daengbunga never had many visitors until Boggs moved in; then she saw men entering and leaving the apartment.

According to the neighbor, Daengbunga wanted Boggs to move out, but she didn't want to go.

A police dispatcher who was on duty that day testified. Jurors listened to the 911 call and heard Boggs screaming in the background.

To respond, the prosecution called the Biloxi police officer who responded to McLemore's 911 call.

The officer testified that Daengbunga was alone and unharmed when he arrived and that he did not require any assistance.

Closing arguments are expected this afternoon, after which the case will be sent to the jury.
