Murder in Teaneck: 26-year-old woman shot by twin brother, police say

TEANECK, N.J. (WABC) — According to the Bergen County District Attorney's Office, a 26-year-old woman was shot and killed by her twin brother in Teaneck on Thursday morning.

According to prosecutors, Jonathan Hagley is accused of murder, possession of weapons and obstruction of justice.

According to the Bergen County District Attorney's Office, it happened around 8:25 a.m. on Hickory Street.

According to police, Naomi Hagley was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a private residence and was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

First responders found that the suspect, her twin brother, had fled the scene.

Hagley was found several blocks from the crime scene by Bogota Police officers.

A pistol with an obscured serial number was found near the crime scene, officials said.

The video of Hagley's escape was captured by Luz Javier's surveillance camera.

“Ten minutes earlier, I left the house to take her to school. When I came back and saw everything, I thought: what's going on?” said Javier.

Bergen County officials believe there is no further threat to the community.

“Nothing happens here, so I never thought we would experience something like this. I feel sorry for the family,” said Javier.
