Suspect accused of murdering his girlfriend found next to an embankment is now involved in another murder – Crime Online

Officials said Thursday that a California woman who disappeared earlier this month was found dead in Nevada and authorities are investigating her as a homicide.

Placer County police said Patricia Portella-Wright's body was located using a drone on an embankment near Mt. Rose Highway in Washoe County. Portella-Wright's boyfriend, Brent Clifford, has been jailed in connection with her alleged murder, according to KCRA.

Portella-Wright, 48, was last seen on August 4, but was not reported missing until August 9 because she did not show up for work.

According to KCRA, Clifford is the suspect in another murder case that occurred in Reno, Nevada. In that case, a 68-year-old man was found shot to death two days before Portella-Wright was reported missing.

According to SFGate, Clifford was arrested in Portola while traveling in the male victim's car.

Clifford was reportedly the last person seen with Portella-Wright. Authorities have not provided any further information about the 68-year-old's murder or Clifford's relationship with him.
