The Ventura County Sheriff's Department arrested a man earlier this week for allegedly dragging one of their deputies in a car.

Investigators charged Bryan Ismael Torres with assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer, and an outstanding felony warrant.

Torres allegedly ran over the deputy during a traffic stop on August 13. The two drove into the parking lot of a gas station before the deputy attempted to arrest him on the warrant.

He refused to surrender to the deputy and jumped back into his car. While Torres fled, the deputy was dragged across the asphalt. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A day later, investigators were able to track him down and arrest him. Torres is being held on $10,000 bail. The district attorney's office has scheduled his arraignment for Friday.
