Autumn McClure and her boyfriend were driving her little brother to daycare when a brake caliper flew out of the bed of a truck driving in front of them, flew through the vehicle's windshield and struck McClure in the chest and neck area.

McClure's family posted on Facebook that Autumn passed away before emergency responders could arrive.

Autumn attended Soddy Daisy High School, where she graduated second in the class of 2022.

She had already earned an associate degree from Chattanooga State Community College and was enrolled in their graphic design program.

In their grief, McClure's family also draws attention to loose objects in the backs of trucks.

They ask people to check items in the bed of the truck before driving, as if they fly out, it could be dangerous for others.

A service for Autumn will be held at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
