Child dies, two injured after tragic accident in Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Maryland – A police chase triggered by an AMBER alert in Virginia Beach ended in a fatal crash in Prince George's County on Thursday morning that left one child dead and two others injured.

The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) reported that the chase was connected to an August 14 incident in which 36-year-old Dana Demetrius Plummer allegedly stabbed a woman and child in the 900 block of Jay Art Court and then kidnapped three children – 7-year-old Zayin Plummer, 5-year-old Zayir Plummer and 16-month-old Za'riyah Plummer. The victims were treated at a hospital and were in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon.

After the stabbing, an AMBER alert was issued and authorities were on the lookout for the SUV Plummer was driving.
