Lawyer could get Haiti's prime minister in trouble

Saint-Louis challenged the dismissal of Raoul Pascal Pierre-Louis, CEO of Haiti's National Bank Credit (BNC).

In a letter addressed to Conille, the lawyer stressed that Pierre-Louis' dismissal violated administrative regulations.

The digital newspaper Haiti Libre reported that Saint-Louis reminded the head of government that his client had been appointed by presidential decree.

“This decision appears to reward corruption and embezzlement rather than promote integrity and transparency within the Haitian public administration,” the lawyer denounced.

Prime Minister Conille dismissed Pierre-Louis, who accused the advisers of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), Gerald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire and Smith Augustin, of demanding 100 million gourdes (US$757,575) to keep him in office.
