Tallahassee man found guilty of attempted murder after shooting cousin on John Boy Lane

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was found guilty of attempted first- and second-degree murder by a jury Wednesday.

Lance Dickey is now awaiting sentencing and could spend decades in prison.

Dickey shot his cousin in August 2022 at a home on John Boy Lane, suffering non-life-threatening injuries, according to court documents. The intended target was another man, but he ducked, so Dickey shot his cousin instead.

According to police, a group argument broke out, resulting in shots being fired.

A sentencing date for Dickey has not yet been set.
