1 dead in shooting at gas station in Mobile: police

Mobile police are investigating a fatal shooting outside a gas station in west Mobile on Thursday.

According to police, the shooting occurred at 10:11 p.m. at a Chevron gas station at 4126 Moffett Road. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle, a gas pump and a nearby house that had been struck by gunfire. No one inside the house was injured.

At the scene, officers learned that a male victim was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim's identity has not been released by police.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that the shots came from a vehicle that had driven into the parking lot.
