Suspect wanted for drug trafficking arrested by task force in Euclid

A drug trafficking suspect was arrested in Euclid by the U.S. Marshal's Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

According to a post on the Lake County Sheriff's Facebook page, agents with the Lake County Narcotics Agency, along with members of the Mentor Police Department and detectives from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, observed suspected drug activity in a business parking lot on May 20. Patrol officers attempted to stop the suspect's car, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

Drug investigators identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for drug trafficking.

Agents forwarded the warrant to the U.S. Marshal's Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, and on July 27, task force members found the suspect in Euclid. He was arrested and large quantities of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, as well as a loaded handgun, were seized, the post said.

The suspect was taken to the Lake County Jail and additional charges are pending in the case.
