Who is Lucca Allen, the newest star of Clarkson's Farm?

Lucca Allen made a big impression on viewers with his appearance in the latest series of Jeremy Clarkson's Clarkson's Farm. The 20-year-old recently settled in the Cotswolds and landed a job at Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton.

Jeremy Clarkson introduced the multi-talented boy with the words: “Lucca is Didley Squat's Swiss Army knife. He is a racing driver, works in the farm shop and comes from a famous Irish cooking dynasty.”

Lucca is no stranger to the kitchen and showed off his culinary skills by whipping up a nettle soup that was a hit with both Jeremy and farm manager Kaleb Cooper. When he's not working on the farm, Lucca is known for his exploits on the race track as an Irish racing driver. He started karting in 2011 and took home the Formula 4 Southeast Asia Championship title in 2019.

He ventured into endurance racing in 2022 and competed in the Le Mans Cup in 2023. Earlier this year, he took part in the F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, where he finished 17th, reports the Express. But Lucca is not the only star in the family – his mother is famous TV chef Rachel Allen, 52, who has appeared in her own TV series and written numerous cookbooks.

Rachel Allen didn't hesitate to defend her son on Instagram when the stars of “Clarkson's Farm” asked if he had an environmental health certificate. “He does. HACCP trained,” she promptly replied, sharing a clip from the program.

Lucca comes from a long line of famous chefs. His grandmother is the renowned chef Darina Allen and his great-grandmother was the Michelin-starred Myrtle Allen. His parents, Isaac Allen and Rachel Allen, both have roots in the Ballymaloe Cookery School, where they met in 1989.

Lucca has made an unexpected pit stop in his career at Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop. He is at the farm shop with his girlfriend Jemima, who he met when she attended a cookery class in Ballymaloe. In a chat with RSVP Live, Lucca gave an insight into his current job: “I'm waiting until I can make a full-time living from racing, but at the moment I live and work in the Cotswolds, at Jeremy's Farm Shop.”

He added: “Luckily we have a farm shop at home so I have experience. Lisa Hogan, Jeremy's girlfriend, is a family friend so I called her to ask if there was a job and explained that I would be racing too. So far so good!” Lucca appreciates the flexibility of his current job, noting: “They are really understanding as I will be racing for a week and a half from March to November but when I am there I work as hard as I can for them. It's really good.”
