Former Arlington Heights school nurse arrested for drug abuse for students: police

A former nurse at an Arlington Heights elementary school is behind bars on charges of embezzling prescription drugs for students.

Tory Eitz, 48, was arrested Friday on the following charges, which stemmed from an investigation that began on April 22:

  • One count of abuse of office, a Class 3 felony
  • Five counts of forgery, a Class 3 felony
  • Seven counts of endangering the life or health of a child, a Class A misdemeanor

Arlington Heights Police received a report from Arlington Heights School District 25 regarding a “potential health, welfare and safety risk” at Westgate Elementary School.

Eitz was accused of abusing medications prescribed to students, which led to an investigation.

Investigators said they reviewed evidence collected at the elementary school and conducted several interviews with witnesses, school staff and parents.

According to police, several students involved in the embezzlement of medication have been identified.

After months of investigation, investigators found that Eitz had falsified official school documents to “cover up her actions.”

According to police, her case has been processed since her arrest and she has been released. Eitz is due back in court on August 19.
