Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Unit Receives Award as Outstanding Crime Prevention Agency

News

From |

On July 8, 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office South Patrol Crime Prevention Unit was presented with the Outstanding Crime Prevention Agency award at the Texas Crime Prevention Association (TCPA) annual state conference in Corpus Christi, Texas. The TCPA is comprised of both civilians and police officers with experience in crime prevention, public safety, neighborhood watch, loss prevention, security, and community police academies.

Over the past two years, the visionary approach of specialists Carlos Tavarez, Ryan McCarty and Brian Aguilar has resulted in several successful programs, including an Amber Alert outreach program in partnership with McDonald's, an Autism Awareness program that fosters a special bond with autistic children, and the “Day with a Deputy” coloring/activity book to engage children in events. The Crime Prevention Unit is also the driving force behind more than 300 National Night Out events, which have earned The Woodlands Township and the Unit numerous first-place awards over the years.

Please join us in congratulating our outstanding Crime Prevention Department on receiving this prestigious award!
