Seven injured, two dead after accident in Anderson County

ANDERSON CO., Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol said it is investigating a fatal crash on I-75 South.

According to a preliminary report, four cars were involved in the crash, which occurred around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday near mile marker 128.

Dennis and Mary Ann Jacobsen from Utah were in the first car.

Car two, a Nissan Sentra, was driven by 35-year-old Marsha Stover. In her car were three teenagers, aged 15, 13 and six.

Pedro Daniel Avina Sanchez, 35, and Jose Manuel Avine, 65, were in car three, a Jeep Wrangler.

Douglas Ray Lancaster, 60, of Kentucky, was the only person in car four.

All cars were traveling south on I-75 in a single file, with car #1 at the back of the file.

According to the preliminary report, car number one failed to properly yield to the other cars and drove into them.

Both occupants of car three succumbed to their injuries.

All other participants were injured.

Charges have been brought against both Jacobsens, the report says.
