The Lakers' schedule for the 2024 season has been released

This week, the NBA released the full schedules of all 30 teams. The Los Angeles Lakers' schedule for the regular season is a mixed bag.

This includes a challenging start to the season, a relatively easy stretch in late December and most of January, and a gauntlet in the first few weeks after the All-Star break. On the other hand, the team has the fewest consecutive games played next season with 13.

Before facing the Minnesota Timberwolves on opening night, the Lakers will play six preseason games in October. While some fans think preseason games don't matter or are even optional, they play a key role in helping a team's coaching staff plan rotations while helping players get into game shape and rhythm and improving chemistry between them.

Los Angeles’ preseason schedule for 2024 is as follows:

  • Friday, October 4: Minnesota Timberwolves, Greater Palm Springs, Acrisure Arena, 7:30 p.m. PT
  • Sunday, October 6: Phoenix Suns, Greater Palm Springs, Acrisure Arena, 6:30 p.m. PT
  • Thursday, October 10: Milwaukee Bucks, Las Vegas, T-Mobile Arena, 6:30 p.m. PT
  • Tuesday, October 15: Golden State Warriors, Las Vegas, T-Mobile Arena, 7:00 p.m. PT
  • Thursday, October 17: Phoenix Suns, Phoenix, Footprint Center, 6:00 p.m. PT
  • Friday, October 18: Golden State Warriors, San Francisco, Chase Center, 7:00 p.m. PT

Interestingly, the Lakers will play a series of back-to-back games to conclude the test season.

Opening night of the regular season will be October 22nd, with the Lakers' game against the Timberwolves making up the second half of that evening's TNT doubleheader.
