DeKalb man charged with attempted murder while on probation

DEKALB, Ill. (WIFR) – DeKalb police have arrested a man for attempted murder after United States Marshals Service officers found him in Chicago.

On June 23, DeKalb police responded to 820 S. Kimberly Dr. where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.

The victim identified the shooter as Nathaniel J. Robinson, 44, who was on parole at the time of the shooting. DeKalb police investigated and issued a warrant for Robinson's arrest.

On August 1, the United States Marshals Service notified DeKalb police that they found Robinson in Chicago, arrested him without incident, and transported him to the Illinois Department of Corrections. Robinson is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and aggravated use of a firearm.
