Hartford man arrested for shooting woman with stolen gun

HARTFORD, Connecticut (WFSB) – A Hartford man was arrested Friday night for allegedly shooting a woman with a stolen gun.

Hartford police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert near 481 Wethersfield Avenue.

When officers arrived, they discovered a woman in her thirties suffering from gunshot wounds.

She was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Police were able to quickly identify and locate the suspect, 41-year-old Eliezer Carmona of Hartford, and arrest him on Stedman Street.

Carmona faces several charges, including first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a weapon, theft of a weapon and first-degree robbery.

The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit are actively involved in the investigation, which is ongoing.
