Nike Air DT Max '96 'Colorado Home' HM9236-001 Release Date – Shoe News

With just one week left until the start of the season, Nike will soon be bringing a new colorway of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders' signature sneaker to shelves.

The Nike Air DT Max '96 “Colorado Home” style is already available at some retailers ahead of its official release date. Made famous by Sanders as a member of the Dallas Cowboys in the mid-1990s, the Nike Air DT Max '96 (sometimes called the Diamond Turf 3) was the dual-sport star's third signature sneaker with the brand. Originally released in 1996, it featured visible Max Air cushioning in the midsole.

One of Sanders' most popular models, the Air DT Max '96 has been reissued several times, most recently seen in 2018 before its current iteration. Unlike that version, which came out at a time when Sanders and Nike were not under an active contract, the 2024 update includes an original detail: a silhouette of the player-turned-coach's face peeking through the bottom of the Max Air window.

After releasing earlier this year in the Buffaloes' signature “Varsity Maize” colorway, the Air DT Max '96 now gets the team's home colors. This “Colorado Home” style uses a two-tone look of black and “Vegas Gold” made from a mix of leather and nubuck throughout its upper.

In a January Instagram clip announcing the return of his Nike signature line, Sanders showed off a cleated version of the “Colorado Home” Air DT Max '96. Players wore various colorways of the cleats last season, and Sanders was also spotted in a custom pair with upgraded cushioning. The classic '90s style was also seen in exclusive colorways of LeBron James' signature sneaker.

In a Friday X post, Sanders re-shared the images shown here and captioned his post, “They're coming.” The Nike Air DT Max '96 “Colorado Home” is expected to officially release on September 2nd for a retail price of $170 via Nike's SNKRS app and select retailers.
