The Venezuelan political party Voluntad Popular in the state of Barinas is demanding the release of Freddy Superlano and proof of life

There is no evidence whatsoever from the national and international community that confirms that the national leader of Voluntad Popular, Freddy Superlano, is still alive and that his human rights are guaranteed after his forced disappearance, so the regional coordinator of this organization in Barinas, José Gregorio Colina, is demanding his release.

“Freddy Superlano has not committed any crime,” Colina assured in a letter to lapatilla.com, stressing that “it is necessary for the authorities to provide proof of life.”

Lawyer José Gregorio Colina, regional representative of Voluntad Popular Barinas, citing legal arguments, said: “It is important to remind public officials that in 1999, as part of the constitutional process, a new Constitution was approved that contains important provisions for the protection of human rights, both civil and political, as well as economic, social and cultural.”

In this new constitution, Colina stated: “All are guaranteed, in accordance with the principle of progressiveness and without any discrimination, the enjoyment and exercise of the inalienable, indivisible and interdependent human rights.”

“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most important global instrument for protecting citizens.”

Colina called on the government and the judiciary to “respect the Constitution, which they themselves claim is the best in the universe. They cannot do the opposite of what they proclaim.”
