Man in critical condition, suspect arrested after stabbing in apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO – A man is in critical condition and a suspect is in custody after a dispute between neighbors turned violent.

At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to calls of a reported stabbing at an apartment complex near the corner of Callaghan and Culebra on the West Side.

A police sergeant present at the scene told the media that a verbal argument between neighbors began and turned violent when one person pulled out a baton and the other a knife.

One man was taken to hospital with at least one stab wound and is currently in critical condition.

The suspect who produced the knife was arrested and two female witnesses were detained for questioning.

According to police, the argument arose because the victim allegedly had ongoing problems with other residents of the complex.

The incident is still under investigation.
