Pop star Bebe Rexha thrown off Lufthansa flight for ‘hate crime’

Bebe Rexha described herself as the victim of a “hate crime” after she was kicked off a Lufthansa flight in Munich, allegedly for speaking to a security guard in Albanian.

“I was threatened because I thought the security guard was Albanian,” the pop star wrote under a video of herself sobbing on Instagram Stories. “I spoke to him in Albanian and asked where I could get my ticket and now he's not letting me board the flight.”

On Saturday, the singer-songwriter posted a series of tearful clips on the social media platform following the alleged incident, reposting another Instagram user's story in which he called on Munich Airport to “investigate the male police officer who threatened a woman” because she spoke Albanian.

According to Rexha, the security guard did not want to give the singer his name. “But I just found out he works for ATSG, a document control service provider contracted by Lufthansa,” she wrote in a follow-up post.

The German airline told TMZ that it was in contact with Rexha and would investigate the alleged incident.

She told her followers: “I believe this is a hate crime because I am Albanian.” Rexha, whose father is from North Macedonia and whose mother is of Albanian descent, was born in Brooklyn, New York.

The “hate crime” allegation against the pop singer in her Instagram story comes after she publicly disparaged her ex-boyfriend and fellow musician G-Eazy on the same platform in June. She called him a “stupid, ungrateful loser” and wrote: “You're lucky people like you again. Because I could talk about all the sh*tty things you did and how you treated me after I gave you your only real hit.”
