Three people arrested after allegedly selling heroin and marijuana in Independence

INDEPENDENCE: According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, three people were arrested following a search warrant in which police seized packaged marijuana and heroin.

According to TPSO, Justin Cannon, 40, Lorenzo Jones, 27, and Rodrica Jones, 30, were all booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on August 14. A search warrant for a home on Adelante Street led to the discovery of packaged marijuana, heroin, scales and a gun believed to have been stolen from the Baton Rouge area, TPSO said. In addition, TPSO said all of the items were accessible to a child in the home.

Cannon and Lorenzo Jones were each charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute, possession of a CDS in connection with a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a CDS in the presence of a person under the age of 17. Jones was also charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute.

Rodrica Jones was arrested for each of simple possession of marijuana, possession of CDS in the presence of a minor, endangering a child, and renting a disorderly dwelling.
