Man injured after shooting at gas station in Raleigh

SMITH CO., Mississippi (WLBT) – A man is in custody following a shooting at a Raleigh gas station Saturday.

The Smith County Sheriff's Office said officers and Raleigh police responded to reports of a shooting at the Chevron gas station.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found an injured 24-year-old man.

The suspect, Kentario Tyre Campbell, fled the scene before police arrived.

After investigating, officers arrested Campbell around 6 a.m. and took him into custody.

He is charged with aggravated assault and is currently being held in the Smith County Jail awaiting his first court date.
