Jeremy Madix and Jonah Ahad in possession of marijuana

During the security check, Customs and Border Protection officers found a total of 64 bags of weed in Jeremy's bag, weighing up to 76 pounds, and Jonah's bag was allegedly stuffed with 31 bags of weed, weighing a total of 37 pounds. Court documents stated that “the two suitcases in Madix's possession had his name on the luggage tags and the suitcase in Ahad's possession had his name on the luggage tag,” The Mirror reported.

Attempts by law enforcement to get more information about the marijuana possession were futile as the two were unwilling to speak without their attorney present. The Vanderpump Rules star and his accomplice were not arrested immediately after the incident. They were later handcuffed, which was followed by arrest warrants and charges for cannabis trafficking. Jonah was first arrested in May, followed by Jeremy's most recent arrest on Tuesday.

Jeremy's application for bail

After his release, Jeremy applied for bail. He submitted character references, including one from his mother. Tanya Madix, Jeremy's mother, wrote, “He is a wonderful, loving son. When he comes to visit, he always takes care of anything I want done in my house. He is a kind person. He always checks on me.”

Another letter came from a deputy sheriff who was assigned as a helicopter pilot to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Air Support Division. Ignacio “Rob” Gracia, the deputy sheriff, wrote: “I have always known Jeremy to be one of the nicest people I know. There is not a bad bone in this man. [time] If I ever needed anything, he was always there, even if it was just to talk.”
