21-year-old West Palm Beach man dies in motorcycle accident

A 21-year-old West Palm Beach man was killed early Saturday morning when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle near the Holiday Plaza Mobile Home Park, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators said Michael Phillips died shortly after 1 a.m. after he was thrown onto the roadway in a crash in the 2200 block of North Haverhill Road in suburban West Palm Beach.

According to a sheriff's accident report, Phillips was driving a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Haverhill Road, approaching the entrance to the Holiday Plaza Mobile Home Park. As he approached, a 21-year-old Riviera Beach woman driving a 2018 two-door Dodge exited the mobile home park and drove across Haverhill Road to turn left and head south.

Phillips' Kawasaki struck the driver's side of the Dodge, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle.

He died at the scene, the sheriff's office said. The driver of the Dodge stopped and stayed at the scene. Investigators say Phillips was wearing a helmet.

Neither drugs nor alcohol played a role, the MPs said.
