4 men charged with second-degree murder after shooting in Baton Rouge leaves man dead

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Four men were charged Thursday, August 15, in connection with a fatal April shooting in Baton Rouge.

According to court documents, Trelvis Griffin (23), Titus Lucas (23), Camari Taylor (21) and Gervea Ferguson (26) were charged with the alleged murder of Jonathan Williams (21).

The shooting occurred at about 1:46 a.m. on April 1 in the 2800 block of 68th Avenue, Baton Rouge police said. Investigators said two people were killed in the shooting.

The East Baton Rouge Medical Examiner's Office identified one of the victims as Williams, while police identified the second shooting victim as 23-year-old Demetriyon Grim. According to BRPD, a 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lucas was arrested on April 15 and Griffin on April 16. Court records show they remain in custody. Arrest warrants for Ferguson and Taylor were issued on August 15.
