Police say man is linked to drug cartel

GREENE COUNTY, Pa. — The man police believe has ties to a drug cartel is now in custody, according to Greene County Regional Police Chief Will DeForte.

A stolen motorcycle led police to Jimmy Butterfield's home in Morris Township. There, police found stolen motorcycles, a sawed-off shotgun, an assault rifle and a pound of meth they believe came from a drug lab across the southern United States border.

Butterfield was arrested after a two-week search. He was arrested by the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department in West Virginia.

Police Chief DeForte said officers had to break a window of Butterfield's truck because there was slight resistance. The police chief also said they have conducted two high-speed chases with this fugitive in the last few days.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates as more information becomes available.
