Here's when Android 15 would be released to the public

With the release of the Pixel 9 series, users and tech enthusiasts were expecting another major announcement that Android 15 would finally be rolled out. Well, to our surprise, that hasn't really happened, but Google has provided the release schedule, and it's not much different from the launch patterns of Android 13 and Android 14. While the software is currently in beta, and the company released the latest Beta 4 on July 18, we expect the final release to be imminent.

The Android 15 release schedule follows the same pattern as the previous generation software launches, but could come earlier

Google has released early versions of its Android 15 operating system and has currently made Beta 4 available for testing before the final version is fully released to the public. The beta is compatible with several Pixel devices and can be manually downloaded on Pixel 6, 7, Pixel 8, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. Once the final version is released, it can also be installed on the Pixel 9 lineup.

The beta program can also be accessed on other OEM models, including Nothing, OPPO, Xiaomi, and HONOR. If you don't have a compatible device yet and want to try out the features available in the beta program, you can use the Android Emulator in Android Studio, which mimics the functionality of an Android device. The beta program can be accessed through the 64-bit system images used by Google.

Android 15 release schedule

The timeline for the final release of Android 15 follows the pattern of previous releases. While developer previews were released earlier this year, the operating system is currently in beta, with the latest update being Beta 4. The latest Beta 4 was released in July and was the second step in stabilizing the operating system. The update indicated that the core functionality has been finalized and app developers are making the final adjustments to ensure compatibility as users upgrade.

With Beta 4 already marking the stability of the platform, the full rollout of Android 15 could happen anytime soon. We believe the update could even arrive as early as next month. While there is no official confirmation from Google about the month of the final rollout, if we look at the previous generation releases, Android 14 was released on the same day as the Pixel 8 series.

Since the Pixel 9 series was released back on August 13 this year, it came out with Android 14, and Android 15 will of course come a little later. Users should expect the final stable version of Android 15 to arrive sometime in the fall.
