Sakamoto Days celebrates 50,000 Twitter followers with the release of a new visual

A new “OTHER” visual has been released for the upcoming Sakamoto Days TV anime adaptation, to celebrate the anime's official Twitter account reaching over 50,000 followers last week. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2025 and will stream weekly on Netflix worldwide.

The anime's Twitter account is also holding a giveaway for 30 lucky winners who will receive a t-shirt with the newly released image. Participants must follow the account and repost the post, and have until August 31, 2024 at 00:00 JST to do so.

Masaki Watanabe (Bakumatsu, Fighting Spirits: Mirage) is directing the anime, with Taku Kishimoto (Blue Castle) as a series screenwriter and Yo Moriyama (MegaloBox Director and Co-Sub Character Designer et al.) as character designers. TMS Entertainment is responsible for the production of the animation.

Meanwhile, the main voice actors of the anime include:

  • • Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang
  • • Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo

The anime is based on the manga series by Suzuki bosswhich began publication in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on November 21, 2020. As of August 2024, 18 tankobon volumes have been published.
