On Saturday, Sandip Ghosh was interrogated for over 13 hours – from 10 a.m. to well after midnight on Sunday. The agency asked him to come back on Sunday morning as they had several more questions about the crime.

Sandip Ghosh has been asked to visit the CBI team investigating the gruesome murder at 11 am.

“The former headmaster has been asked to come again today at 11 am. We have a list of questions for him,” a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official told PTI.

The official said Sandip Ghosh was asked on Saturday what he did after hearing the news of the doctor's death and who he contacted. They also asked why the former school principal kept the parents waiting for nearly three hours.

Sandip Ghosh, who resigned a few days after the murder, was also asked who ordered the renovation of the rooms near the seminar hall after the incident.

The CBI is trying to find out whether there is a conspiracy behind the crime.

“We are trying to find out if there was any conspiracy or planning of the crime. What did the director do and whether he was involved in the incident in any way,” the official said.

The CBI will verify Sandip Ghosh's answers with the doctors and interns who were on duty that day.

As part of its investigation, the agency has so far interviewed 20 people.

The doctor in training was found dead in the seminar hall on August 9. She had gone there to rest during her night shift. The crime occurred between 3 and 5 a.m.

Her autopsy revealed blood oozing from her eyes, mouth and private parts. She was strangled after being beaten and raped. A deep cut was also found in her private parts, suggesting “genital torture.”
